OBIT-CALDWELL, RICHARD ALEXANDER
CALDWELL, Richard Alexander, 80, of Pembroke, died in a Pearisburg
hospital, Wednesday, May 5, 1993. He was born in Newport, Va., June 29, 1912.
He was a son of the late James Groves and Anna Sarver Caldwell. He was a
retired carpenter and was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Belle Snidow
Caldwell. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Wendell and
Carolyn Caldwell, Freeport, Maine, Lloyd and Delaine Caldwell, Roanoke, Lewyn
and Debbie Caldwell, Roanoke; five daughters and sons-in-law, Mabel Ann and
Randy Peters, Ridgeway, Nancy and Robert Todd Moore, Virginia Beach, Sallie
and Danny Lucas, Christiansburg, Wanda and Lee Hypes, Blacksburg, Virginia and
Calvin Lucas, Newport; a special sister, Mary Helen Caldwell, Newport;
fourteen grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m.
at the Kendall Funeral Home, Pembroke. Burial will be in the Clover Hollow
Cemetery at Newport. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from
6 to 9 p.m. Friday. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be
made to the Clover Hollow Cemetery Fund, C/O of Norris Stiff, Newport, Va.
