OBIT-VOWELL, MARION CARL JR.

VOWELL, Marion Carl Jr., 61, of Nolen Road, Christiansburg, died Thursday, May 6, 1993, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and had retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after twenty years service. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Vowell; one daughter, Raynette West, Christiansburg; one son, Paul Vowell, Big Stone Gap; a sister, Eleanor McCrary, Clewiston, Fla.; a brother, Jerry Vowell, Wilmington, N.C.; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8, from the Richardson-Horne Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Peter DuPlesis with burial in Sunset Cemetery. The family suggest in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Building Fund of Main Street Baptist Church, P.O. Box 599, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Friday evening at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
