GETTING SICK OF POLLUTION

WE HAVE been studying about the environment at Oak Grove Elementary School. We learned that the Statue of Liberty is green because of acid rain. We have too much air pollution that affects people like me who have asthma.

We also have too much water pollution. We learned about the oil spills in Alaska and that fish are getting stuck in all the plastic six-pack rings. When people swim in polluted water, they can get sick or even die.

You can help stop pollution by recycling your trash, or by making things out of your garbage. For example, I made stilts out of old strings and cans.

We need to build factories in much smarter ways so they can decrease air pollution. You can make less air pollution by riding your bike or the bus.

If you don't help, maybe all the animals on the Earth will die, and maybe you will, too. Please help the Earth! BILLY IKNER ROANOKE
