Doorneweerd (1-5) got off to a shaky start - walking three in the first two innings - but allowed only three hits in five innings and struck out six. He teamed up with Mark Meswicz, Jason Christiansen and Jeff Curry to hold Winston-Salem (13-15) to five hits.
Salem (13-14) scored the first run when Chance Sanford tripled and scored on a single by Ken Bonifay.
Bonifay, the league's leading hitter, combined with Tony Womack and Sanford for six of the Bucs' seven hits.
The score was 1-1 when Salem's Mike Brown led off the fourth with a triple to center field. Jarvis (3-1) struck out the next two batters and seemed to be out of trouble, when Jeff Conger hit a shallow fly to right field.
Right fielder Chad Mottola didn't make the catch and Brown scored the game-winning run. Conger later scored after he stole third and came home on an attempt to catch him by Greg Hammond. \
