OBIT COMPTON, CHARLOTTE PAINTER
COMPTON, Charlotte Painter, 79, of Lynchburg, formerly of Roanoke, died
Friday, May 7, 1993, in Lynchburg. She was a member of Virginia Heights
Baptist Church and the widow of Paul G. Compton. Surviving are a daughter,
Jane C. Crews, Farmville; son and daughter-in-law, P. Edward and Ann C.
Compton, Monroe, Va.; two brothers, Ernest Temple Painter, Pulaski, Edwin
Sidney Painter, Kingsport, Tenn.; and five grandchildren. Graveside services
will be conducted in Evergreen Burial Park, 1 p.m. Monday by Dr. Harry Y.
Gamble. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel Sunday, where the family
will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
