OBIT HINES, RISON DANIEL JR.

HINES, Rison Daniel Jr., ("Dan"), 70, of Gretna and Lexington, died Thursday, May 6, 1993, in Lexington. He was born January 1, 1923, in Pennsylvania County, and was a son of the late Rison Daniel Hines Sr. and Sallie Johnson Hines. He was a retired cattle farmer and a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Colbert Hines of Richmond; one son, R. Daniel Hines III of Martinsville; two daughters, Nancy Besnfelder of Richmond, and Kathy Tarbet of Gretna; one brother, Larry T. Hines of Wirtz; three sisters, Alice Overbey of Chatham, Sarah Hubbard of Gretna, and Neyra Kreiger of Harve de Grace, Md.; four grandchildren, Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Colbert-Moran Chapel by the Rev. W. D. Lilly. Interment will follow in the Gretna Burial Park. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, Lexington, Va. Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Gretna, is in charge of the arrangements.
