In a harshly worded letter to Arafat, the Muslim Brotherhood demanded the Palestinians withdraw from the U.S.-backed Middle East peace process and resort to "jihad," or holy war, against Israel.
The fundamentalists accused Arafat of making too many "concessions on fundamental Palestinian demands and rights" in the peace talks, which resumed last month in Washington.
The brotherhood is Jordan's most influential political party and holds 22 of the seats in the 80-member parliament.
