TECH TIED FOR 11TH IN INTERCOLLEGIATE TOURNEY

Third-ranked Clemson fired rounds of 284 and 292 for a 576 total at the Palmetto Intercollegiate Golf Classic at the 6,928-yard, par-72 Charleston National Country Club in Charleston, N.C.

Virginia Tech shot 298 and 305 for a 601 total. The Hokies are tied with N.C. State and Old Dominion for 11th place in the 18-team field.

Individually, Clemson's Danny Ellis shot 67 and 72 and has a three-shot lead over three other players. For Tech, Clayton Friend shot 148, Roanoker Lewis Conner shot 149, Sean Farrell shot 151, Tom Graziano shot 155 and Brian Sharp shot 164.
