EASY FUN JUST DOWN THE ROAD

Opera, the theater, movies, art exhibits and symphonies all have their place in our entertainment lives.

But sometimes you long for the simpler forms of entertainment - like bowling, miniature golf, drive-in theaters and, yes, bingo.

All these are available in the New River Valley and are as easy to find as driving down the road and reading the signs.

Cheap family entertainment can be found at the Starlite Drive-In on Roanoke Street in Christiansburg. Located across from Hills Plaza, it's the only revmaining drive-in theater in the New River Valley. Call 382-2202 for prices, show times and movie information.

If bowling is your game, there are two bowling alleys in the New River Valley, one in Christiansburg and the other in Pulaski.

Triangle Lanes on U.S. 460 near New River Valley mall has 32 lanes equipped with computerized scoring.

Leisure Lanes on Dublin Road in Pulaski has 16 lanes. Call 980-6721 for information on hours, leagues and prices.

For golfers and would-be golfvers, Cox's Golf Driving Range, 3500 Prices Fork Road in Blacksburg, has Putt-A-Round Golf, a driving range, golf instruction and golf club repairs.

Playing-A-Round, an indoor miniature golf course, video arcade and snack bar, is at 272 Peppers Ferry Road (Virginia 114) near the New River Valley Mall. The video arcade room also has a pool table. Party facilities are available.

Outdoor miniature golf is available at Putt-A-Round on North Franklin Street in Christiansburg.

Tired of the state lottery? Odds are, playing bingo will give you quicker returns on your gambling money. Bingo players can find a game practically every night somewhere in the New River Valley.
