SIBBICK, MCKNIGHT WIN WATER'S EDGE 4-BALL TITLE

Bill Sibbick of Martinsville and Tom McKnight of Galax shot a tournament record 68-67-135 to win the 36-hole Water's Edge 4-Ball Invitational two-man best-ball golf tournament Sunday.

The previous record of 137 was set by Patrick Brady and Michael Goodes in 1992.

Sibbick is a former Virginia State Open champion, and McKnight is a three-time State Amateur winner.

Tied for second at 137 were Dave King and Nick Aquilino of Bethesda, Md., with 68 and 69 and first-round leaders Larry Hund and Blandin Wright of Charlottesville, who had 65 and 72.

Fourth was the Roanoke team of Chris Clemens and Jack Tuttle at 69-69-138.

In the senior division, Dave Snyder of Water's Edge and Robert Toney of Lynchburg shot a 76-72-148 to tie Bill Rorrer and Winston Carter of Roanoke, who had a 73-75-148 score.
