TELLING A RUMOR TO THOUSANDS

IT IS BEYOND me how in the world Ed Shamy could have thought he was doing Domino's or Tom Wallace a favor by putting that garbage in his April 18 column entitled "Loose lips on pizza not in good taste."

Shamy asks: "But what happens after it leaves your lips, when your friend tells his friends and they tell their friends?" And then the Roanoke Times & World-News allows him to put it in the paper for thousands to read. Even if it is a rumor, there are plenty who could not or would not eat a pizza from Domino's or any other pizza place with the garbage on their mind from his column.

He's had some good and bad columns in the past, but this is the worst. He'll probably say that we don't have to read his columns. Well, I doubt if I will until he gets his brain overhauled. THOMAS L. ALLEN ROANOKE
