FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES

IN REFERENCE to the April 7 story by Laurence Hammack, "Charges dropped; church rift isn't":

I wonder if Calvary Baptist Church in Salem has visitors arrested for trespassing? Are there any Christians in this congregation? Telling those who have been members for 39 years that they are no longer welcome, whatever the reason, would not be what Christ would do. He would welcome them back with open arms, as the shepherd is always glad for the lambs to return to the fold.

Would Pauline and Harvey Richardson been treated any differently if they had come bearing 30 pieces of silver? WILLIAM S. BOYD ROANOKE
