MANNS, James Robert, 76, of Roanoke, passed away at the VA Medical Center,
Salem, Sunday, May 9, 1993. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth C.
Manns, Roanoke; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Mary Duncan and husband, Calvin,
Mrs. Helen Owens, all of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Willie Mae Bonds and husband,
Robert, Goodview; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Rhodes, Mrs. Gracie Wade and
husband, James, Mrs. Annie Bell Martin, all of Roanoke; one brother, William
Manns and wife, Ann, East Orange, N.J.; a host of nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 2 p.m.,
Hamlar-Curtis Chapel. Rev. E. T. Burton will be officiating with burial in
Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8
p.m. at the funeral home. Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.
