OBIT HURT, CLARENCE H.

HURT, Clarence H., 71, of Rocky Mount, passed away Monday, May 10, 1993, in Eldercare Nursing Home. He was born in Franklin County, Va., March 30, 1922, a son of the late Joseph S. and Sally H. Hurt. He was retired after 35 years of dedicated service with J. D. Bassett Furniture Co. and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Army. Mr. Hurt was preceded in death by a son, Wesley H. Hurt. Surviving are his wife, Louise E. Hurt of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Oney C. and Roxie H. Hurt, Glade Hill, Bobby C. and Pam Hurt of Wirtz; one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Wally Richardson, Martinsville; six grandchildren, Brian and Kevin Hurt, Monica and Travis Hurt, Beth Hodges, and Patrica Faye Bray; also several other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 1993, at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Chapel and the Rev. Benjamin Trout and the Rev. Dennis Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will recieve friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Arrington-Bussey Funral Home, Rocky Mount.
