OBIT-MURPHEY, ESTA LINDSEY

MURPHEY, Esta Lindsey, 69, of Highland Springs, Va., died May 9, 1993, at her daughters home in Rock Hill, S.C. She was born in Superior, W. Va., she moved to Amelia as a child. She was a member of Newbridge Baptist Church of Highland Springs. Survivors include seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; husband, Richard Sherwood Murphey; one daughter, Patricia Carolyn Simmons; son-in-law, James Simmons of Rock Hill, S.C.; two sons, Leon Sherwood Murphey, and Fredrick Allen Murphey; two daughters-in-law, Ann Murphey and Judy Murphey, all of Richmond area; mother, Vivian Lindsey McDowell; brothers, Carl, Jean, Arlen Lindsey, all of Richmond area, and Frank Lindsey of Woodbridge, Va. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m. at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, Court St., Amelia, Va. with interment following in Union Baptist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
