AREA AUTHORS TO SIGN BOOKS ON SATURDAY

Two area authors will sign copies of their work from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Main Street Books at 152 E. Main St.

Ed Price will sign his collection of 24 Southwest Virginia ghost stories, "The Mystery of Ghostly Vera." The book includes tales of ghosts at the Tavern, Martha Washington Inn, Barter Theatre, Cave House and other places in Abingdon.

Lowry Bowman will sign "Confessions of a Dark-Barker," a collection of essays expanded from some of his Washington County News columns from 1966 to 1985.

One week later, on May 22, Steve Fisher will sign his new book, "Fighting Back in Appalachia: Traditions of Resistance and Change," from 2 to 4 p.m. Fisher is a political science professor at Emory & Henry College.
