OBIT SPANGLER, WILLIAM OLIVER, ("PETE")

SPANGLER, William Oliver, ("Pete"), 72, of Gold Bond, died Monday evening, May 10, 1993, at his home. Born in Shawsville, he was a son of the late William Winfield and Ardella Conner Spangler. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II, and retired from the Hoechst-Celanese Plant near Narrows. Surviving are his wife, Ella Lafon Spangler; one stepdaughter, Barbara L. Lambert, Newport; three sisters, Alma Cherry, Elliston, Nellie Brown, Earps, Calif., Gaye Ellinger, Chandler, Ariz. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel, Pembroke. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
