OBIT HICKS, MALISSIA KATE ALEXANDER

HICKS, Malissia Kate Alexander, 90, of Lebanon, died Sunday, May 9, 1993, in Bristol Regional Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Lebanon, she was a member of the Lebanon Community Fellowship and the Lebanon Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. She was a member of the Lebanon Senior Citizens Group. Survivors include her husband, Earnest I. Hicks, Lebanon; three daughters, Hazel S. Hicks and Ernestine C. Hicks, both of Alexandria, Brenda S. Hicks, Lumberton, N.J.; two sons, Alexander L. Hicks, Washington, D.C. and Donald W. Hicks, Forest; three sisters, Mrs. Cosby Gravely and Mrs. Lucille Brown, both of Roanoke, Mrs. Sadie Coleman, Norton; five brothers, Frank Alexander, Burkley, Calif., Thomas Alexander, Plainfield, N.J., Eugene Alexander, Indianapolis, Ind., James Alexander, Lebanon, and Samuel Alexander, Oakland, Calif.; one daughter-in-law, Gwendolyn Hicks, Forest; two grandchildren, Keely and Leland Hicks, Forest. Funeral services for Mrs. Malissia Kate Alexander Hicks, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lebanon Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Williams and Presiding Elder, J.P. Keaton officiating. Entombment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Alexander and Hicks nephews and great-nephews. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Russell County Funeral Home in Lebanon. Russell County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
