TAKING CARE OF THE RICH

I AM OUTRAGED and disgusted that a few Republican senators can hold this country hostage to their views and kill President Clinton's economic-stimulus package.

It is reprehensible that Republicans would vote against summer jobs for underprivileged young people, immunization for children and work to improve our inner cites and infrastructure. It is apparent they only care for their rich constituents. These are the same senators who voted for deficit spending during the Reagan and Bush years and got us into this mess. MARTHA BROWN VINTON
