GM APPEALS VERDICT IN FUEL-TANK CASE

General Motors Corp. has asked the Georgia Supreme Court to overturn a $105.2 million damage award to the parents of a teen-ager killed in a 1989 pickup crash.

The appeal filed late Tuesday didn't outline any of GM's legal arguments. A Fulton County state court jury made the damage award in February after finding that Shannon Moseley, 17, died because his 1985 GMC pickup exploded after being struck by a drunken driver in suburban Atlanta. GM has resisted a recall of 1973-1987 GMC and Chevrolet pickups with the side-mounted fuel tanks. -
