BOBBITT, Gertrude Edith, 72, of Hillsville, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 1993, at her residence. She was born January 27, 1921, at Wythe County, Virginia, a daughter of Adam K. Walk and Rosie Scarbrough Walk. She is survived by sons, John Randall Bobbitt, Hillsville, William Franklin Bobbitt, Woodlawn, Kenneth Delano Bobbitt Sr., Hillsville, Charles Edward Bobbitt Jr., Galax, Joe Bobbitt, Trenton, Mich., David Michael Bobbitt, Hillsville, Donald Ray Bobbitt, Detroit, Mich., James Harvey Bobbitt, Richmond, Ind.; daughters, Helen Frances Bobbitt, Taylor, Mich., Ella Sue Hamm, Kernersville, N.C., Elizabeth Ann Shaffner, Fries; brothers, Steve Walk, Emmitt, Mich., Junior Walk, St. Augustine, Fla., sister, Donna Prater, Emmitt, Mich., 38 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 1993, at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville. The Rev. Wallace Price will officiate. Burial will be in the Monta Vista Memory Gardens, Galax, VA. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville.
