SALEM'S PROSECUTOR SEEKING RE-ELECTION

Fred King announced Thursday that he will seek re-election to a fifth term as Salem commonwealth's attorney.

King, an independent, has served as the city's prosecutor since 1978. He has no announced opposition for the Nov. 2 election.

King, 48, is a past president of the Virginia Association of Commonwealth's Attorneys and the Salem/Roanoke County Bar Association. He is an active member of the U.S. Army Reserves in Salem.
