GOP CHOOSES KILGORE FOR HOUSE RUN

Southwest Virginia Republicans will field Scott County's commonwealth's attorney as their candidate to replace the region's senior legislator in Richmond.

Terry Kilgore was chosen at the 1st House District GOP convention this week. Democrats are expected to choose Lee County lawyer George Cridlin at their convention May 22.

The candidates will be vying for the seat being vacated by Del. Ford Quillen, first elected in 1969. Quillen is not running for another term.
