OBIT-RAGLAND, WILLIAM B. ("BUDDY")

RAGLAND, William B. ("Buddy"), 69, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, May 12, 1993. He was retired from Russell Transfer Company, and was a World War II Army Air Force veteran, having served with the 333rd Fighter Squadron. Surviving are his wife, Mary B. Ragland; son Byron Ragland, both of Roanoke; mother, Kathleen Lindamood Ragland, Carrboro, N.C.; sisters, Juanita Hemmig and husband, Brian, Chapel Hill, N.C., Joyce Cooke and husband, C. J., Cary, N.C. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at South Roanoke United Methodist Church. Rev. James A. Hain will officiate. A graveside service will be held at noon, Monday, May 17, at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery, Colfax, N.C. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel. The family suggests that memorials be made to South Roanoke United Methodist Church.
