SHELOR, Elizabeth Smith, 95, of Floyd, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 1993,
at Wheatland Hills Retirement Center, Radford, Va. She was born June 25, 1897,
to John Floyd and Maggie Stigleman Smith. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Bruster E. Shelor; a son, Charles K. Shelor; and a son-in-law, Gordon
R. Pilson. She was an active member of the Floyd United Methodist Church,
Floyd Garden Club, American Legion Auxiliary, the Democratic Party and the
Floyd Historical Society. Survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, J.
Lewis and Isabel G. Shelor, Christiansburg, Frank J. and Ileda B. Shelor,
Floyd; two daughters and one son-in-law, Elizabeth S. Pilson, Stuart, Virginia
S. and Stanley Jack Smith, Radford; one daughter-in-law, Frances G. Shelor,
Floyd; one brother, Calahill M. Smith, Mechanicsburg; one sister-in-law, Annie
W. Smith, Floyd; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at the Maberry
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Arnold officiating. Burial will be
in Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
Floyd United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
