WOMEN WIN BUSINESS AWARDS

Mary Reilly, owner of Mainstreet Bazaar, and Mari Bosworth, president and part-owner of Blacksburg Physical Therapy Associates, have won the Greater Blacksburg Chamber of Commerce's annual small-business awards.

Reilly was named Small Business Person of the Year for having an outstanding business and for her congenial attitude toward customers. Mainstreet Bazaar promotes locally produced merchandise, such as pottery.

Bosworth received The Eugene Jones award for her contributions to the community through her profession. She conducts self-help groups for people with arthritis and for New River Valley Hospice patients, and she has been instrumental in organizing retreats for children with cancer.

Brenda O'Reilly, vice president of the chamber's Retail Merchant Committee and presenter of the awards, said the women were "nominated by peers and chosen based on their concern for and impact on the community and their business operation and growth. Besides being good business people, Reilly and Bosworth are vivacious, community-oriented individuals."
