ALMOND-POEHLER

Desiree Poehler and Robert H.Almond, Jr. were united in marriage on May 15, 1993 in Washington Baptist Church, Washington, Va. Dr. David Moore officiated the ceremony. The reception was held at The Ramada Inn, Luray, Va.

The matron of honor was Melody Young of Sperryville, Va., sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were AngelaPullen of Sperryville, Va.; AnnetteGarrett of Orange, Va.; Courtney Johnson of Richmond, Va.; Sonja Tresh of Vinton, Va.; and Charlotte Baldwin of Salem, Va. The flowergirls were Lauren Garrett and Sarah Martin. Kenneth Powell, step-father of the groom, was the best man. The ushers were Glenn Powell of Salem, Va., brother of the groom; Marvin Clark of Bedford, Va.; Jae Andrews ofRichmond, Va.; Tommy East of Salem, Va.; and Lynn Milton of Roanoke, Va. The ringbearers were Thomas and Daniel Young. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Sandra Jenkins. The organist was Mrs. Bonnie Williams. The guestbook wasattended by Cindy Melton of Richmond. The program attendant was KatrinaMilton of Roanoke. Solos were performed by Mr. Dale Alderman of Centerville, Va. and Mrs. Carol Elmore of Salem, Va.Teresa Goerner of Roanoke and LoriGilliams of Natural Bridge, were servers at the reception.

Desiree is the daughter of Mr. Francis E. Poehler and the late Dorothy L.Pullen/Poehler. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Janie Pullen of Washington, Va., and the late Charles E. Pullen. She is a graduate of Rappahannock County High School and Bluefield College, and isemployed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Virginia. Robert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Powell of Salem, and the late Robert H. Almond. He is a graduate of Glenvar High School, attended Virginia Western and is employed by DoubleEnvelope.

Following a wedding trip to Cancun, the newlyweds will reside in Salem,Virginia.
