BREWER-SMITH

Cynthia Gail Smith and Dr. James L. Brewer III were married May 15, 1993, in First United Methodist Church in Salem, Va. Reverend Jonathan L. Bennett performed the ceremony. The reception was held at Hidden Valley Country Club. The matron of honor was Mrs. Deborah Wacker, friend of the bride. The best man was Dr. Daniel Smith, brother of the bride. Ushers were Mr. Robert Smith, brother of the bride, Mr. Thomas Armstrong, brother-in-law of the groom, Dr. Simon Pennings and Dr. Joseph Orlick, friends of the groom. The guestbook was attended by Mrs. Susan Beard. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Smith, of Salem, Va. She graduated from Salem High School and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is employed by Quantum Medical Systems, Roanoke, Va. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Brewer, Jr., of Charlottesville, Va. He graduated from Langley High School in McLean, Va., Tufts University and University of Virginia School of Medicine. He is employed by Piedmont Emergency Consultants. After the wedding trip to Paris, France, the newlyweds will live in Charlottesville, Va.
