OBIT PHIFER, MARIE R.

PHIFER, Marie R., 83, of Portsmouth, formerly of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 1993, in Portsmouth. Survivors include, brother and sister-in-law, Willie Robertson and wife, Ruth, Portsmouth; sister-in-law, Helen Stockton, Statesville, N.C.; stepdaughter, Katie Lee Phifer, Baltimore, Md.; devoted niece, Laura Marie Mitchell, Portsmouth; eight grandchildren; six grat-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Hamlar-Curtis Chapel with the Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The procession will meet at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Monday. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
