OBIT BRYANT, ELMER LEE
BRYANT, Elmer Lee, 77, of Roanoke, died Friday, May 14, 1993. Elmer retired
after 40 years of service to REA Express Agency, he held several positions at
REA, spending most of his tenure as carpenter and cabinet maker. He was a
member of the Basham Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Hazel
Helms Bryant; a son, David Bryant, Washington D.C.; three daughters, Loretta
McClure of Salem, Mo.; Marie Osterbuhr, Garden City, Kan., Betty Bryant,
Roanoke; five grandchildren and one brother, Melvin Bryant, Roanoke. Services
will be 3 p.m. Monday at Oakey's South Chapel, Elder Junior Conner and Elder
Lane Carter will officiate. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park.
Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel where the family will receive friends
from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family plans
to create a living memorial in memory of Elmer and suggests memorials be sent
to the Bryant family.
