OBIT GILBERT, GLADYS R.

GILBERT, Gladys R., 79, of 4902 Grandin Road, S.W., Roanoke, died in a Salem hospital Sunday, May 16, 1993. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Frank Gilbert, and was a member of the Windsor Hills Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Betty Gilbert, Roanoke, Gene and Sandra Gilbert, Salem, Wayne and Donna Gilbert, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Freda and Bill Eller, Roanoke, Loretta and W. H. Bland, St. Simons Island, Ga.; five grandchildren and wives, Lynn and Donna Eller, Rocky Mount, Regina Eller and Mark Wray, Roanoke, Horace Bland III, St. Simons Island, Ga., Randy Eller and Mark Gilbert, Roanoke; one great-grandchild, Megan Lynne Eller, Rocky Mount; three sisters, Edith Porter, Austinville, Jewell Kinsman, Lakeland, Fla., Hazel James, Richmond; one brother, Clarence Russell, Austinville; a special friend, Mrs. Lenora Giles, Roanoke, friends at Fairington Apts.; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's South Chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 1993, with the Rev. C. L. Dodson officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Oakey's South Chapel.
