OBIT LAWSON, CECIL CARLISLE

LAWSON, Cecil Carlisle, 89, of Radford, passed away Saturday, May 15, 1993, at his home. He was a member of Grove United Methodist Church. He was an alumnus of VPI Class of 1926, a retired civil engineer for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 43 years and a certified land surveyor. Survivors include his wife, Patricia P. Lawson of Radford; one son and daughter-in-law, John C. and Carolyn Lawson of Seaford; one daughter, Sarah Lee Forrester of Clearwater, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. John O. Haller of Wytheville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Will Robbins and Rev. Clarence Dishman officiating. Interment will follow in West View Cemetery in Radford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Grove United Methodist Church or the New River Valley Hospice. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Seaver-Sanders and Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
