OBIT WADE, ELIZABETH SWOPE
WADE, Elizabeth Swope, 86, of Brownsburg, died Saturday, May 15, 1993, at
Stonewall Jackson Hospital, Lexington. Born February 4, 1907, in Rockbridge
Co., she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Carrie Blackwell
Swope. Mrs. Wade was a member of McElwee Chapel Presbyterian Church and was
the widow of Harrison Bud Wade. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law,
Betty Jean and George Mohler of Lexington; Janis and Jim Ayres of Brownsburg;
two sisters, Genevieve Smedley of Fairfield, Marie Flint of Spottswood; one
granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kim and Scott Heslep of Brownsburg; and two
great-granddaughters, Julia Heslep and Toria Heslep of Brownsburg. Funeral
services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, 2 p.m. from the McElwee Chapel
with Rev. David Dickerson and Rev. R. W. Swisher officiating, with burial to
follow in the church cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions to
McElwee Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
