OBIT ROSE, CONSTANCE MARIE

ROSE, Constance Marie, SSG, 41, of Fort Riley, Kansas, passed away on Friday, May 14, 1993, at 3005 Ferncliff Avenue, Roanoke, home of her sister, Hazel Page. Sgt. Rose was a native of Roanoke, Va., and one of five daughters born to the late Fleming and Hager Rose. Sgt. Rose had served in the U.S. Army for the past 17 1/2 years. She earned numerous awards and decorations. She leaves to cherish her memory three brothers, SFC (retired) Fleming Rose Jr., Petersburg, Robert Rose, Seals, Ala., and Howard Rose, Roanoke; two sisters, Bernice R. Council, Keanburg, N.J., and Mrs. Hazel R. Page, Roanoke; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Annette Rose, Petersburg, Mrs. Betty Rose, Seals, Ala., and Mrs. Barbara Rose, Roanoke; fourteen nieces; ten nephews; a host of other relatives and friends including, Mrs. Annie M. Bonds, Mr. Don Wahls, both of Roanoke, and Ms. Norvee Bass of Oakland, Calif. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m. at the Williams Memorial Park with Dr. Herman Word officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
