The General Services Administration said Monday that most of the money owed taxpayers by the Presidential Inaugural Committee - approximately $1.3 million - is for a telephone system installed by the GSA, the government housekeeping agency.
An inaugural committee official who requested anonymity said the dispute over the phone charges could be resolved within two weeks and the committee will pay what it owes. The official said the committee wants the GSA to explain why such a costly system was needed. - Associated Press
