NOMINATIONS FOR ANTI-DRUG AWARDS TAKEN

Nominations for the 1993 Governor's Awards for Anti-Drug Efforts are being accepted.

The annual awards program was developed by the Governor's Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Problems to recognize exceptional efforts of individuals and organizations who work to promote a drug-free lifestyle, and to identify model programs.

Winners will be named in three categories: individual/youth (age 18 and younger); individual/adult (age 19 or older); and organization/agency. Nominees will be classified into six program areas: criminal justice, education, prevention, treatment, media campaigns and research.

Gov. Douglas Wilder will recognize the award winners at a luncheon in October.

The deadline for nominations is July 2. To obtain a nomination form, call the Governor's Drug Policy Office at (804) 786-2211.
