GALAX GROUP AWARDING SCHOLARSHIPS

The Galax Foundation for Excellence in Education will award 29 scholarships totaling $30,975 to Galax High School graduates June 4.

The recipients are chosen by the school's Scholarship Selection Committee.

The foundation is a nonprofit organization. The idea for it dates to 1985, when some Galax citizens sought ways to make sure that all the city's high school graduates wanting to go to college could do so.
