OBIT SHAY, GARLAND ALTON

SHAY, Garland Alton, 76, of Cloverdale, died in his home Tuesday, May 18, 1993. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of N&W Railway, and a realtor with J.M. Peck. He was predeceased by his first wife, Claudine Heck Shay, and an infant son. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred Hearn Shay; four stepchildren, David L. Hearn, Hawaii, Tom H. Hearn, Fincastle, Jim Hearn, Vinton, Carol Hamel, Rhode Island; six stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakey's North Chapel 11 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 1993, with the Rev. William R. Harding III officiating. Burial will be in Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
