OBIT ORANGE, IRENE HATTER

ORANGE, Irene Hatter, 67, of Route 2, Bedford, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 18, 1993, at her residence. She was born in Bedford County, April 16, 1926, a daughter of the late Andrew Harrison Hatter and Mary Frances Taylor Hatter. She was the widow of W. Benjamin Orange and a member of Cool Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by a son, Steven D. Orange of Bedford; two stepsons, Rufus C. Orange of Bedford, Homer G. Orange of Gary, Ind.; three brothers, Edward Hatter, Jackie Hatter and Earl Hatter, all of Bedford; three sisters, Inez H. Karnes and Hazel H. Parker, both of Bedford; Barbara H. Waldron of Thaxton; a special friend, Cecil E. Overstreet; also surviving are several stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 21, 1993, at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Earl Ragland and the Rev. Dallas F. Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home.
