ADAMS, May Davidson, 88, of Lexington, Va., died Monday, May 18, 1993, at
her residence. Mrs. Adams was born on June 11, 1904, in Rockbridge County,
Va., a daughter of the late William Davidson and Lillie May Lackey Davidson.
She was the widow of Dr. Lewis Whitaker Adams. Mrs. Adams taught school at the
Lexington High School and was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church,
Lexington. Surviving are a son, Tom Adams, Roanoke; a daughter, Carol Adams
Hamric, Richland, Wash.; four grandchildren, Michael Davidson Adams, Meredith
Grainger Adams, both of Roanoke, Lisa Ross, Boise, Idaho and Mark Hamric,
Nampa, Idaho. A graveside service will be conducted Friday, May 21, 1993, at
11 a.m. at the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery, Lexington, with Dr. L. Randolph
Harrison officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be
made to the Lewis Whitaker Adams Professorship in Commerce at Washington & Lee
University, Lexington. Arrangements by the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
