OBIT MOTLEY, WILLARD ALPHEUS

MOTLEY, Willard Alpheus, 91, of Gretna, died Tuesday, May 18, 1993, in Friendship Manor, Roanoke. He was born September 23, 1901, in Pennsylvania County. He was a son of Jordon and Kate Motley. He was a retired merchant and farmer and was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lucille Burch Motley; one son, Austin Motley of Lynchburg; three daughters, Charlotte Edwards of Landover, Md., Vivian Meadows of Gretna, and Janet Murray of Roanoke; one brother, Timothy Motley of Danville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. at Highland Burial Park, Danville, by the Rev. R. G. Rowland. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Gretna.
