OBIT TYREE, WALTER ODELL

TYREE, Walter Odell, 81, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, May 18, 1993, at his home. He was born in Rockbridge County on July 13, 1911, the son of the late John L. Tyree and Ollie L. Sorrells Tyree. He was a retired welder with Litton Industries and attended Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Martha Mabry Ware Tyree, Fairfield; one daughter, Twyla Tyree Thompson, Clermont, Fla.; two stepsons, David Ware, Manassas, William Ware, Fairfield; one grandson; two stepgrandsons; one stepgranddaughter; one stepgreat-granddaughter; one sister, Mildred Tyree Pavlick, Fairfield; one brother, Dot H. Tyree, Fairfield; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lomax Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lisa Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lomax Funeral Home.
