The Bensalem, Pa.-based retail women's apparel chain operates Fashion Bug and Fashion Bug Plus stores in the Roanoke Valley.
The company opened 33 new stores during the period, bringing the total number of stores to 1,236. It expects to open 170 stores this year, bringing the projected number of units at year end to 1,340, a 10 percent increase.
Roanoke Electric Steel
Roanoke Electric Steel Corp., Roanoke-based maker of specialty steel products, Wednesday reported second-quarter net earnings of $949,242, or 18 cents per share, compared to $807,292, or 15 cents per share, in the 1992 quarter. Sales were $40.98 million, up 19 percent from $34.39 million.
For the six months ended April 30, net earnings were $1.5 million, or 28 cents per share, compared to $467,341, or 9 cents per share, in the 1992 period. Sales were $76.98 million, up 13 percent from $68.07 million.
