E&H PROFESSOR ELECTED VICE PRESIDENT OF GROUP

Marianne Grzywacz, assistant professor of music at Emory & Henry College, has been elected state vice president for Virginia of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.

She has been on the Emory & Henry faculty since 1975.

Grzywacz was elected at the state conference held recently at Roanoke College.

Three Emory & Henry students - Susan Wood of Clifton Forge; Stephanie Helms of Madisonville, Tenn.; and Melissa Sumner of Christiansburg - sang for evaluation at the conference and received ratings of "excellent."

Gabe Helton of Abingdon, a private music student, received the highest score in the high school category, and went on to win an honors rating at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference in Greenville, S.C.
