OBIT BLANKENSHIP, ELMER

BLANKENSHIP, Elmer, 67, of Narrows, died Wednesday, May 19, 1993, in the Giles Memorial Hospital, Pearisburg. He was born in Giles County on June 6, 1925, and was the son of the late Rufus and Tisue Mullins Blankenship. He is survived by is wife, Helen Fleeman Blankenship, Narrows; a son, Franklin Blankenship, Narrows; two daughters, Gaynelle Montgomery and Juanita Shrader, both of Pearisburg; brother, J.D. Blankenship, Narrows; two sisters, Lula Fleeman, Narrows, and Frances Shrader, Newport; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Riffe's Funeral Chapel in Narrows with Rev. Kimball Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Narrows. The family will receive their friends at Riffe's in Narrows, Thursday from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
