`GOOD' PHILOSOPHY ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH

APPARENTLY Mark Schleupner (April 25 letter to the editor, "Moral agenda is not Christians' alone") hasn't lived long enough to understand that controlled living in this world, without accepting and living the teachings' of Christ, is futile.

Yes, we live in a diverse world, and many themes of morality sound from the world of organized religion. However, we are all children of one omnipotent God, not Mohammed, Buddha or any other man-made god whose flesh has long since rotted in the ground. Following a philosophy of man, however "good," cannot bring stability and purity of thought unless the whole self is committed to a higher level of truth. And time has revealed that truth lies solely in the teachings of Christ. TWILA T. BRISCOE ROANOKE
