HALL OF FAME BOWL, ACC IN 2-YEAR PACT

The Atlantic Coast Conference has signed a two-year agreement with the Hall of Fame Bowl to place a fourth team in postseason play.

The ACC already was committed to send its conference champion and a second team to the bowl coalition and a third team to the Peach Bowl in Atlanta.

The payout for the Hall of Fame Bowl, played Jan. 1 in Tampa, Fla., is $1 million. The ACC team will be matched against a team from the Big 10 Conference.

Last year, the ACC received close to $8 million from bowls in which Florida State, North Carolina State, North Carolina and Wake Forest played. The new deal and better placement in the coalition could bring the ACC close to $10 million, commissioner Gene Corrigan said. - Associated Press
