PUPILS HURT WHEN TOUR BUSES COLLIDE

Six eighth-graders from Ohio received minor injuries Thursday when their tour bus rammed into the back of another, state police said.

Trooper Douglas Buchanan said the driver of the lead bus slammed on his brakes to avoid hitting a truck that had cut in front of him on Interstate 95 in Prince William County.

The driver of the second bus was not able to stop in time. Buchanan cited the second bus driver for following too closely.

The Milkovich Middle School students from Maple Heights, Ohio, were en route from Colonial Williamsburg to George Washington's home at Mount Vernon when the accident occurred, said tour leader Laurie Edwards. - Associated Press
