CLINTON SEES FIGHT COMING ON ABORTIONS

President Clinton said Thursday that his health care proposal would include some abortion coverage but acknowledged Congress might delete such a controversial provision as it debates the plan.

"It depends on what the Congress votes," Clinton told MTV News when asked if his plan would cover abortions. "My position is this: that services that are traditionally covered in private health insurance policies should be covered in the government's package.

"And some, but not all, abortion services are traditionally covered in private health insurance packages," Clinton said. "And since they are traditionally covered, I think they should be. Now, the Congress may take it out. That will be a fight we'll have."
