OBIT ANDERSON, CLAUDE E.

ANDERSON, Claude E. ("Gene") 72, of 5103 Yellow Mountain Road, S.E., Lot 63, Roanoke, died Wednesday, May 19, 1993, in a local hospital. He was a member of Parkway Wesleyan Church. An Army veteran in World War II, he was a retired building inspector for the City of Roanoke. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Annie Anderson; and his first wife, Margaret H. Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie V. Hairfield Anderson; son and daughter-in-law, Richard E. and Brenda Anderson, Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie A. and Butch Willson of Salem; daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Wayne Gray, Vinton; son, Micheal Hairfield, Roanoke; one sister and brother-in-law, Anna Belle and Price Plunkett, Roanoke; a number of sisters and brothers-in-law; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel 1 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 1993, with the Rev. John Ott officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
